How GitHub Automated Its Own Code Review Bottlenecks

Paglalarawan

GitHub faced a growing crisis where pull requests were sitting in review for days, slowing down feature releases and frustrating developers. Instead of hiring more reviewers or enforcing stricter SLAs, the engineering leadership introduced a radical automation strategy: using AI to pre-screen code changes against internal style guides and security policies before human eyes ever saw them. This episode explores how they reduced average review time by forty percent without adding headcount, what went wrong with their initial model training, and why human-in-the-loop remains non-negotiable for critical infrastructure. We dig into the specific metrics, the tooling stack, and the cultural shift required to make engineers trust an algorithm with their first line of defense. #CodeReview #GitHub #EngineeringLeadership #Automation #TechnicalDebt #AIInEngineering #DeveloperExperience #PullRequests #SoftwareArchitecture #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #TechTrends2026 #ProductivityHacks #DevOps #EngineeringCulture #QualityAssurance #MachineLearning #CTOPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
