Listen Up! A Cappella

How do you define Jewish song? Listen Up! Jewish Vocal Band’s four vocalists—Kadi House, Steve Singer, Freddie Feldman and Eli Taylor—radiate the joy and pride of being Jewish and having a special connection to Israel. The Chicago Tribune raves, "What comes across in every moment of their performance is an adoration for singing — turning melodies and harmonies on their heads to come up with something unique and full of freshness and appeal. When redefining musical rules, it helps to be good — and Listen Up! is very good, lacking nothing in imagination and the ability to sell their vision of a song.” Chicago’s uniquely compelling Jewish vocal band has twice won Best Original Arrangement in the Harmony Sweepstakes and is a Best Religious Album nominee of the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. Their music videos have garnered more than a half-million views on YouTube and their “Adon Olam” cover of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” can be heard in Shabbat services in synagogues across the US. Recent projects include a stirring music video to raise funds for victims of terror attacks, an “Avenue Jew”-worthy musical collaboration with Chicago’s Puppet Mechanics. Listen Up! calls Chicago home as the house band—without instruments—of the Greater Chicago Jewish Festival for the past 25 years. Just plain crazy awesome Jewish a Cappella.
