The Brooklyn Barbie on Love, Loyalty, and Masking Pain

Description

Lola Brooke pulls up to Funky Friday to talk about the moments that shaped her—from the grind before the spotlight to how “Play With It” changed everything. She opens up about navigating love, trust, and identity in the public eye while breaking down the real state of women in rap and what people often get wrong about NYC women. Lola also dives into the power of ad-libs, staying authentic while going viral, and the balance between Bad Style Barbie and her softer side. Tap in for an honest, unfiltered conversation that goes deeper than the music. 00:00- How It All Started for Lola Brooke 00:58- Welcome to Funky Friday 01:25- Lola Brooke Pulls Up 01:45- Why Adlibs Really Matter 03:27- “Play With It” Changed Everything 15:19- The Real State of Women in Rap 18:56- The Stories That Shaped Me 32:55- Bad Style Barbie vs Lover Girl 33:48- Dating While Being in the Industry 36:19- Trust Gets Different When You’re Public 40:46- Real Advice for Women in Love 42:35- What People Get Wrong About NYC Women 55:36- Staying Real While Going Viral 58:30- Lola Brooke’s Final Words 📲Follow Cam Newton on Social Media! 📹Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@cameron1newton 📸Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cameron1newton 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/CameronNewton/ 👤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CamJNewton2/ 🎩Shop all my hand made hats: https://bit.ly/MeshikaShop 🎞️ Host / Executive Producer: Cam Newton Producer: Jauné Jackson 📸https://www.instagram.com/jaunejackson/ Director: Omari Collins 📸https://www.instagram.com/ogcollins Talent Producer Alaitra Mcgrone 📸https://www.instagram.com/alaitra.mcgrone Camera: Jean-Pierre Chapoteau 📸https://www.instagram.com/jchapoteau Vashon Revils 📸https://www.instagram.com/v2r_films Editors: Richard Steward II 📸https://www.instagram.com/theycallme.dot Jean-Pierre Chapoteau 📸https://www.instagram.com/jchapoteau Location Sound / Sound Mix and Master: Troy Hermes 📸https://www.instagram.com/troyhermes Digital: Brendan Cole 📸https://www.instagram.com/brendan_cole Production:: 🎬: Iconic Saga 📸
