Lady London on Intelligence, Industry Politics, and Staying True to Herself

Description

On this episode of Funky Friday, Cam sits down with Lady London for a real conversation about creativity, identity, and navigating the music industry on your own terms. From her journey through music, fashion, and education to the realities of dating, relationships, and balancing personal life with ambition, nothing is off limits. They unpack what it really means to be “eclectic,” the difference between HBCU and PWI experiences, and the evolving dynamics of women in rap. Honest, reflective, and unapologetically real—this is a conversation you don’t want to miss. 00:00 – Setting the Tone: Funky Friday Energy 01:36 – Lady London Enters the Room 03:14 – From Bars to Vision: Lady London’s Journey 04:50 – The Real Struggles of the Music Industry 07:03 – Inside the Creative Process 25:18 – Fashion as Identity & Expression 27:07 – Cam’s Philosophy on Style 29:41 – What “Eclectic” Really Means 31:10 – Education, Influence & Life Choices 35:52 – HBCU vs PWI: Culture, Access & Reality 43:19 – Balancing Personal Life & Career 49:31 – Dating, Relationships & Modern Expectations 53:50 – Women in Rap: Power, Pressure & Progress 56:39 – Final Thoughts & Love to the Audience 📲Follow Cam Newton on Social Media! 📹Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@cameron1newton 📸Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cameron1newton 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/CameronNewton/ 👤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CamJNewton2/ 🎩Shop all my hand made hats: https://bit.ly/MeshikaShop 🎞️ Host / Executive Producer: Cam Newton Producer: Jauné Jackson 📸https://www.instagram.com/jaunejackson/ Director: Omari Collins 📸https://www.instagram.com/ogcollins Talent Producer Alaitra Mcgrone 📸https://www.instagram.com/alaitra.mcgrone Camera: Jean-Pierre Chapoteau 📸https://www.instagram.com/jchapoteau Vashon Revils 📸https://www.instagram.com/v2r_films Editors: Richard Steward II 📸https://www.instagram.com/theycallme.dot Jean-Pierre Chapoteau 📸https://www.instagram.com/jchapoteau Location Sound / Sound Mix and Master: Troy Hermes 📸https://www.instagram.com/troy
