Episode 28: You Are Just A Mere Mortal...

Description

This episode starts with pure banter as we revisit life in Nigeria and some of the hilarious (and questionable) hygiene practices from boarding house days. The conversation shifts as KP experiences a sudden electricity outage in Canada and realize how his family had no idea how to react, leading us to question how we actually survived constant power outages growing up in Nigeria. From there, we unpack several chaotic internet topics including the saga of Michael from 90 Day Fiancé and his long-suffering pursuit of a green card, as well as the subtle social media captions from baby mamas that quietly reveal absent fathers. The gist also touches on a generation that seems oddly comfortable joking about hellfire, the strange idea of a “Christian Sex Toy” business model, and the frustrating culture of pastors who refuse to end services on time.Things take a deeper turn as we begin deconstructing Christianity through the lens of our childhood. KP questions several Bible stories using logic, while Uzor insists that questioning God is fundamentally wrong. The discussion quickly escalates into a heated debate with special production and managerial guests Ama and Ichie joining in; as difficult questions about suffering, slavery, and global crises like the situation in Palestine are raised.Join the Community:Join the conversation using #IGGFY and #IGetGistForYou, and follow us on Instagram and X @igetgistforyou.Hosts: @KpFawehinmi @uzxrmaIf you enjoyed the gist, please leave a rating on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, subscribe on YouTube, and share this episode with a friend 💐❤️
