* Unidentified at Zurich Film Festival 2025 *

Description

I already reviewed the 21st edition of the Zurich Film Festival in 3 previous Gimme a Beats: in November 2025, with a focus on the movie Hedda, in January 2026, with a focus on the movie Cuerpo Celeste and in March 2026, with a focus on the movie Calle Malaga. As listeners of the Gimme a Beat know, after exploring the *female factor* of the Zurich Film Festival, I adapt my radio shows to the releases of the movies I focus on. This year, I have seen more than 30 movies, and had the opportunity to interview 4 female filmmakers and 1 music composer. To make sure that these movies receive the attention they deserve, I created several Gimme A Beats, each focused on one movie and, when possible, aired in alignment with their Swiss cinema release (not all of the movies will be released in Switzerland).Considering the number of movies I've seen, I will not be reviewing all the movies and posting them on the Gimme A Beat page. But I will continue posting the reviews after tonight's show, since most of the movies from the festival are coming to the cinemas next year. This year again, I will be focusing on my highlights only. To find them, you should follow the search with the following hashtags: #zff #zff2025 #highlight #gimmeabeat. In tonight's Gimme A Beat, I will be focusing on one of my movie highlights: Unidentified, directed and written by Haifaa Al Mansour, one of Saudi Arabain's first female and best-known directors. This will be my last Gimme a Beat with the focus on the Zurich Film Festival 2025. Unidentified is not yet available on streaming platforms, but I just found out that it will be released in US cinemas on June 19th, and in Canadian cinemas from June 26th, so hopefully we will also be able to see it in Swiss cinemas soon.Tune in to Gimme a Beat tonight (18.05.2026) to hear my review and impressions of the movie Unidentified, featuring an interview with director Haifaa Al Mansour, music by Saudi Arabian band Seera, and a selection of songs by female artists from across the region. I will also include the so
