From The Horse's Mouth

Darren Morris thought that he had it all - his dream job as a Journalist with a national newspaper, covering the sport that he loves and a beautiful girlfriend, the beautiful, if somewhat 'high-maintenance' Megan Bartholomew. In short, he is happy with his lot, until inexplicably, on the same morning, he loses two of the main pillars that make up his life, leaving only his beloved daughter Lucy to try and help her Dad through his early mid-life crisis.Depressed and feeling more than a little sorry for himself, Darren is sent by the new boss that has taken his old job, Simon Armitage to cover a nondescript story at a local racetrack, Morris has a bizarre encounter with a retired racehorse by the name of Double-Espresso, which has him doubting his sanity, even more than he struggles to believe his luck.Following a blow to the head, not only can he converse with the stallion, he is also furnished with guaranteed tips for forthcoming races. Does Darren use the information to make himself a fortune, which in turn will give him a better than even chance of winning back his lost love?Throw in a decades old skeleton in the Morris family closet, which a consortium of underworld figures are keen to ensure remains firmly in the pages of history and Darren will have little time to dwell on the surreal developments his life has taken. Surviving in one piece will be enough!Read more
