I got chills watching this for the first time Julian Dorey's full episode w/Charlie Rocket: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_7705RdOlA The $660 fan made Nike commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Davi60B5Iig The Colin Kaepernick Nike commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBnseji3tBk Charlie Rocket reveals the eye opening origin behind Nike’s biggest commercial. He set a simple path to become a Nike athlete, made a fan-made Nike commercial for $660 with a one-man filmmaker who shot, scored, edited, and color-graded it, posted it, and the video exploded. A call from Beaverton followed, he flew to Nike’s campus, met executives, and heard that his film was influencing their direction. Weeks later Nike mailed him an astronaut backpack, he cut a second piece titled “Dream Crazy,” then an NDA landed and he previewed a new campaign on his phone. It was the Colin Kaepernick commercial that became Nike’s biggest, ran in the Super Bowl, featured LeBron James and Serena Williams, and, overnight, helped push Nike’s sales to all-time highs and add billions in market value. #podcastclips #story #motivationalspeech #nike
