Tere Ishq De Naam | Aape Ranjha Hoi Aan | Traditional Punjabi Sufi Qawwali | Roohvani Studio

تفصیل

Tere Ishq De Naam is a traditional Punjabi Sufi Qawwali built around the ultimate act of surrender giving the jind, the self, completely to Ishq. The song opens with the image of an endless spiritual river: “Ishq da darya… Jo is wich dubya, so paar gaya.” Here, Ishq is not simply an emotion. It is a path. To enter its river is to leave behind the ego, the nafs and the identity of the separate self. The journey follows the seeker as he becomes a jogi, leaves the familiar world behind, follows the Murshid and begins the difficult work of surrender: “Murshid di main baat manni, Nafs nu main agg launi.” At the heart of the composition is the central Qawwali refrain: “Jind meri qurbaan, Tere ishq de naam.” The verses draw from the timeless symbolic world of Heer-Ranjha, Sohni-Mahiwal, Laila-Majnoon and Sassi-Punnu, where earthly longing becomes a metaphor for the soul's search for the Divine. As the Qawwali develops, the boundaries between seeker and Beloved begin to disappear: “Main nahin, tu hi tu.” The call-and-response section takes the spiritual realization even further: “Aape Ranjha hoi aan.” “Tu hi Heer, tu hi Ranjha.” “Tu hi Murshid, tu hi Murid.” The final message is one of complete surrender: “Ishq de vich haar ke jeetna, Jis ne apna aap gawaya, Us ne sabh kuch paaya.” 🎧 THE SOUND The production follows a traditional Punjabi/Pakistani Sufi Qawwali structure, beginning with a slow and expressive male alaap before gradually opening into an energetic 8-beat Keherwa groove. The arrangement features: Harmonium • Tabla • Dholak • Tanpura • Manjira • Sitar • Deep Bass Drone • Traditional Qawwali Handclaps A deep, powerful male lead carries the Kalam with emotional crescendos and melismatic phrases, answered by a male Qawwali chorus through unison and octave call-and-response. The production intentionally avoids electronic sounds and modern pop drums, preserving an organic dargah-mehfil atmosphere with warm reverb, forward vocals and live-style ensemble energy.
