Who gets to decide who you become?Your parents? Your religion? Your culture? Society? Or you?For Antasha Zahra, this wasn't just a philosophical question. It was the decision that shaped her entire life.Bullied as a child. Growing up feeling different long before she had the language to explain it. Navigating family, religion, mental health, relationships, and society's expectations, Antasha Zahra had to make a choice many people will never fully understand:Continue living the life others expected or finally choose herself. In Episode 6 of Beyond Pride: The Darkness We Battle, Antasha Zahra, transgender woman, content creator and advocate, joins *Hun Ming Kwang, LGBTQ+ Ally, award-winning Master Coach, Filmmaker and InnerWork, Diversity, Inclusion, Deep Democracy & Process Work Facilitator, for one of the season's most heartfelt conversations.Together, they explore:• Growing up feeling different before understanding why.• Bullying, depression and learning to find hope again.• Transitioning while navigating family, faith and culture.• Why every transgender journey is different.• The search for love, acceptance and belonging.• Why labels often stop us from seeing the person behind them.• The importance of kindness, community and choosing compassion over judgement.Throughout the conversation, Antasha speaks candidly about transitioning in Singapore, finding support in unexpected places, navigating relationships, and why living authentically was never about becoming someone else, it was about finally becoming herself. She also shares a perspective that challenges assumptions: whether someone chooses to transition or detransition, the decision should come from an honest relationship with oneself, not from external pressure.Drawing from decades of work in inner work, trauma-informed coaching, diversity, inclusion, Deep Democracy and process work, Ming expands the conversation beyond gender identity into a question that every one of us will face at some point in our lives:How much of who we become is truly our choice and
