Kenya’s Untouched Beauty: Karimenu II Dam, a Quiet Town & Tea Plantations! 🇰🇪

تفصیل

Have you ever been to Gituamba? Nestled in the hills of Gatundu North Constituency, Kiambu County, this hidden gem sits about 71km from Nairobi CBD and not far from Gatukuyu and Mataara towns. Surrounded by lush tea plantations, banana trees, and rolling slopes, Gituamba is a rural town full of character and life. The town center may be small, but it’s busy with bodaboda riders, local stalls, and small businesses. It has old-school rural buildings built along hilly terrain, a developing market, and only one main tarmac road — the rest of the interior is rough murram, with some areas nearly impassable. Locals engage in farming, growing bananas, tea, passion fruits, and poultry keeping. We even visited the nearby Karemenu II Dam, a vital resource for the area. Gituamba also has a dispensary, several churches, and schools that serve the local population. It's a place of calm, tradition, and potential — perfect for anyone seeking to experience authentic rural Kenya.
