Unsolved[english]

For true-crime podcaster Cal Lovett, every missing persons case holds a painful echo of his own past - his sister Margot's unsolved disappearance that has haunted him since childhood. When notorious serial killer Marc Dubois, known as The Woodland Killer, unexpectedly breaks his decades-long silence to request a meeting with Cal, it seems too good for his struggling podcast to pass up. But Dubois's unsettling knowledge about Cal's personal life suggests this is more than just another interview. Desperate to escape the shadow of this disturbing encounter and salvage his show's plummeting ratings, Cal immerses himself in a cold case from the Scottish Highlands. Thirty-five years ago, a young woman named Layla vanished during a solitary horseback ride, her mount returning without her. While authorities concluded she suffered a tragic accident in the wilderness, Cal's investigation begins to unravel a more sinister truth. As Cal delves deeper into Layla's disappearance, his own life starts to unravel. Yet he can't pull away from the case, driven by an obsessive need to give Layla's family the closure he never had. But the threads connecting these two mysteries - Layla's vanishing and Dubois's cryptic invitation - may lead Cal to answers about his sister's fate that he's not prepared to face.
