“My Rosary”: The Beloved Prayer of an Exorcist

Fr. Gabriele Amorth is considered one of the most important figures in the Italian Catholic Church. Not only was he a renowned exorcist, he was a journalist, a noted theologian, and biblical exegete. The recent Hollywood film about his life (though highly embellished) has only added to his mystique.Behind the man was a powerful faith. He could not have performed exorcisms for thirty years without supernatural aid. Toward the end of his life, while retired in a rest home in Rome, he revealed his secret: the Rosary. For years, he had an unpublished book that he kept in a drawer of his cell in the Generalate of the Paulines in Rome. It consisted of reflections and meditations on the rosary that he wrote personally. Shortly before he died, he gave it to his order to publish. Now, for the first time, that book has been published in English. As a biblical scholar, Fr. Amorth breaks open all twenty mysteries of the Rosary one by one. The mysteries–including the luminous mysteries introduced by St. John Paul II–were designed to offer meditations on the life of Christ. Using Scripture, biblical and historical research, and Church teachings, Fr. Amorth brings these mysteries to life. He takes the reader through the entirety of the life of Christ. After reading this book, those who pray the Rosary will never do so the same way. These pages are full of light, like the life of Father Amorth. May they illuminate your life.Read more
