In the Shadow of the Qur'an: Twelve Stories Common to the Bible and Qur’an and What Their Shadows Reveal About Truth

This booklet explores twelve stories common to both the Bible and the Qur’an, highlighting the differences in their narratives. The author, Dr. Edward Hoskins, aims to show how the Qur'an's depiction of these stories casts shadows on the biblical truths. The booklet examines how the Qur'an's versions of these stories lack crucial elements like the concept of "original sin" (Adam), the necessity of atonement for sin (Cain and Abel), and the centrality of Jesus Christ as the Messiah and Savior (Moses, Abraham, Jonah, and Jesus).Dr. Hoskins argues that these omissions create a distorted picture of God's plan for humanity, emphasizing the importance of accepting Jesus as the only way to salvation. He emphasizes that the Qur'an's narratives, while containing some similarities, ultimately lack the essence of Christian faith and the truth of Jesus Christ's sacrifice.Read more
