We Asked a Vehicle Startup Expert: Is CNG Better Than EV? | Ep 29

Description

Is the future of transportion going electric in Africa? Following last week’s look at how SWAP is transforming commercial transportation, we’re diving deeper into the EV vs CNG debate. Are electric vehicles actually a better, more cheaper option for Africa right now? To help us unpack this, we’re joined by Florence Boboye, Director of Business Development, Operations, and Customer Experience at SAGLEV (Nigeria’s first sub-Saharan EV assembly plant). Together with Eme and Muktar, we explore the reality of EV assembly, infrastructure challenges, and what it really takes to scale. In this episode, we also discussed if tech subscription models can survive emerging markets and also covered major crypto, funding and media updates across tech in Africa Headlines featured on this episode The “Underdog” Tech Company Saving Keke Napep Riders from Poverty- https://youtu.be/GSxabme32pg Swap is turning petrol three-wheelers electric—with diesel generators - https://techcabal.com/2026/07/30/nigerias-petrol-three-wheelers-are-going-electric-with-batteries/ Nigeria issues first tax framework for crypto and virtual assets- https://techcabal.com/2026/08/03/virtual-assets-tax-guidelines-for-nigerian-vasps/ Kenya empowers investigators to seize crypto wallets tied to financial crime - https://techcabal.com/2026/07/29/crypto-assets-can-now-seized-and-converted-in-kenya/ Canal+ backs Moment as it expands beyond MultiChoice- https://techcabal.com/2026/08/05/techcabal-daily-palmpay-eyes-hong-kong/ #HeadlinesbyTechCabal #TechCabal #evvspetrol #evvsgas #futureoftransportation #carofthefuture #electricvehicle This episode is brought to you by Raenest: Have a question?
