Trueno: Countdown To TURR4ZO (with Leandro Paredes)

Description

“I need to experience things so I can write later. I need to nurture myself to learn so that it inspires me at some point… what I experience is more important than what I write, because if I don’t experience anything, I can’t write anything,” says Trueno, who returns with TURR4ZO, a project shaped through lived experience and a deeper connection to his roots. Shot at El Obrero, a historic dining spot in La Boca, the neighborhood where he was born and raised. Trueno sits down with Argentine professional footballer Leandro Paredes to reflect on the making of the album, unpacking its direction, his evolution, and the responsibility that comes with representing Argentina on a global stage. Drawing parallels between music and sport, the conversation centers on cultural impact and what it means to be a voice for a new generation. Breaking down the creative process, he explains how TURR4ZO leans into classic Argentinian and Uruguayan influences and samples, a shift from the U.S. hip hop influences that defined his earlier work. He also speaks on the significance of the number 4, framing it as a defining element of the project and the album he connects with the most.
