In this video, I’m fixing everything that hasn’t been working in our kitchen—and not with a full remodel, but with simple, practical changes that actually fit our real life. Right now we’re in that transition between winter and spring on the homestead, and while I’m pressure canning beans for the months ahead, I’m finally tackling the systems in this kitchen that have been slowing me down for far too long. With a full house—teenagers, adult kids, my husband, and constant movement in and out of the kitchen—it started to feel like I was losing hours every single day just trying to cook. Not because I didn’t have systems… but because the systems no longer matched the season we’re in. One of the biggest shifts we’re making is creating a separate kitchen space downstairs for our older kids—a breakfast and light cooking kitchen to take pressure off our main space. I’ll be sharing that full cottage-style kitchen transformation in an upcoming video. If you’re in a busy season, managing a full home, or feeling like your kitchen just isn’t working the way it used to… this is for you.
