Description

I recently watched a video from a married couple, The Steels, on the Dear Future Wifey Podcast, and something the wife said really stuck with me, but not in a good way. It reminded me of a narrative I’ve heard far too often in Christian spaces: that if you’re single, it must be because you weren’t willing to “struggle through love” or “fix a man.” That somehow, you’re the problem. And I’m sorry, but no. We’re not doing that anymore. In this video, I’m sharing why that messaging is not just off, but harmful. I’m also talking about how it personally shaped my journey and why God has called me to speak directly to singles, even when it’s uncomfortable. This is more than commentary. It’s a heart check and a necessary reframe. We’re done idolizing marriage. We’re done settling out of fear. And we’re done telling single women that they should tolerate dysfunction for the sake of love. If you’ve ever felt shamed for being single, pressured to lower your standards, or made to feel like marriage is the only mark of success, this is for you. Let’s talk about it. 💬 Drop your thoughts in the comments. What’s something you’ve been told as a single that you had to unlearn?
