In this episode, she breaks down the Eastern European origins of vampire hysteria in the 1730s, explains why New Orleans became the vampire capital of America, and gets into the deeply queer roots of vampire literature from 'Carmilla' to Anne Rice's Castro-district-inspired work. She also calls out the tourist behavior happening on cemetery graves (you know who you are). This isn't your basic vampire explainer. Rose brings the receipts: historical, folkloric, and personal.
