The HEARTBREAKING Way YG Is Already DUMPING BABYMONSTER For NEXT MONSTER

Description

BABYMONSTER fans are in shock after YG Entertainment's latest announcement seemingly confirmed what many have been suspecting for months — that the company is already moving on from their newest girl group before they've even had the chance to peak. With BABYMONSTER's third mini album CHOOM dropping on May 4th to mixed reactions, netizens are slamming the title track as another "generic BLACKPINK copycat," and the blame is landing squarely on YG founder Yang Hyun Suk and his old-guard production crew. Even with Teddy's reduced involvement and an outdated sound that critics are calling "trot/old-school vibes," the real bombshell came when YG revealed plans for not one but TWO brand-new debut groups, including a new five-member girl group reportedly being called "NEXT MONSTER" — a name fans are calling a slap in the face to BABYMONSTER themselves. Despite breaking their own first-day sales record with 387,871 copies sold and topping iTunes charts in 15+ regions, BABYMONSTER's future at YG is looking shakier than ever, with longtime fans pointing out the company's history of mismanaging multiple groups at once, from BLACKPINK's lack of promotion to TREASURE's uneven release cycles. Is YG really setting BABYMONSTER up for failure to make room for a fresh start, or is there still hope for the group to find their identity? We're breaking down everything you need to know about the controversy, the comeback, and what NEXT MONSTER really means for BABYMONSTER's future.
