Description
The Department of Fisheries of Bangladesh is working with small holder black tiger shrimp farmers to improve their yields and product quality by deepening ponds, improving biosecurity, stocking SPF postlarvae, offering high quality feed, and harvesting only at the end of the cycle. Yields are expected to increase from 250 kg/ha to 1,000 kg/ha. This initiative is part of a larger collaborative World Bank project also involving the Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation and the Global Seafood Alliance.
