SC Pronounces Landmark Stray Dog Verdict: Advocate Swapnil Kothari Calls 'Very Balanced Judgement' The Supreme Court today delivered a landmark judgment on the ongoing stray dog matter, setting out directions aimed at balancing public safety and animal welfare; senior advocate Swapnil Kothari described the ruling as a "very balanced judgment." This order addresses management of stray dog populations, vaccination and sterilisation protocols, community feeding zones, and steps for handling aggressive or rabid animals while emphasising compliance with existing Animal Birth Control norms and public-health safeguards. Legal experts say the judgment attempts to reconcile municipal responsibilities with constitutional values of compassion and public safety, and the court has asked states and civic bodies to file implementation plans within a fixed timeframe. Stay tuned for reactions from RWAs, animal-welfare groups, and the health department, and for guidance on what the judgment means for neighbourhoods across the country. #SupremeCourt #StrayDogs #AnimalWelfare #PublicSafety #SwapnilKothari #ABCIndia #DogBites #Sterilisation #Vaccination #MunicipalLaw #RepublicWorld #RepublicTV #BreakingNews #RepublicNews #IndiaNews #LiveNews #RepublicExclusive #RepublicWorldLive #ArnabGoswami #RepublicDigital #NationFirst Watch this LIVE coverage as tensions continue to rise in West Asia amid the Iran conflict.
