S4 E11: The Feast of the Forgotten

Description

Season 4 • Episode 11 — The Feast of the Forgotten. A cold hush falls over Manila before the first dawn of December. Parols glow, bibingka smoke drifts, and the city hums with Simbang Gabi—while, at the edges of the crowds, the hungry and forgotten huddle in the dark. In this unsettling episode, we walk the narrow line between celebration and survival: multo who return for a taste of what they once had, desperate families leaving plates of rice by the door, and creatures like the tikbalang that prey on despair. Through listener submissions and old Filipino lore, we explore how the season’s hope and hunger can thin the veil between worlds—and what it costs when the living forget those who remain hungry in body and spirit. Warning: This episode contains dark themes and scenes some listeners may find deeply disturbing. Listener caution is strongly recommended.
