My Guests Aren't Real. I Made Them With AI. (Season 3 Opener Rebroadcast)

Description

A rebroadcast from the Season 3 opener. In this audio onlyepisode I sit down with two experts on AI and the future of work. Professor Zuri Farai Mensa, an AI optimist based in Cape Town, and Dr. Kwame Omari Mojo, an economist and ethicist based in Nairobi. We get into the jobs at risk, the jobs that become more valuable, what reskilling really means in Africa, and whether Universal Basic Income is a serious answer or a hot potato. Then comes the twist. My guests are not real. I created them with AI. I am sharing this episode again today because the questions it raises are still live. As we head deeper into Season 4, and as funding for development work shifts, we all need a clear view of how to stay relevant. If you are a career humanitarian, a translator whose work is being automated, or anyone watching their role get reshaped by AI, this conversation gives you practical ground to stand on. In this episode. • 01:30 Why AI could create more opportunities than challenges in Africa • 06:00 The case for caution. Bias, displacement, and ethics • 09:30 Reskilling. Powerful tool, not a silver bullet • 12:30 USAID funding shifts. What it means for AI in Africa • 16:00 Jobs most at risk.
