Lighting shit on fire with Navkiren Ghag Co-Founder of Throne Room Inc

Description

Have you ever been told you're "too much"—too ambitious, too driven, too outspoken, only to realize those same traits were actually your greatest strengths? For Navkiren Ghag, entrepreneurship became more than building a business. It became a journey of self-discovery. From painting nails for classmates as a child, to managing the pressure of air traffic control, to co-founding Throne Room alongside her partner Chris, she's spent her life solving problems and stepping into leadership long before she had a title for it. Together, Navkiren and Chris are bringing a forgotten Canadian innovation back to life—a sanitation solution that provides safe, affordable, and sustainable access for people living beyond traditional infrastructure. But beneath the business story is something even more powerful. It's a conversation about growth, resilience, servant leadership, and learning to embrace the qualities others may have misunderstood. One of the most memorable moments of the episode comes when Chris reflects on something Navkiren had heard her whole life—that she was "bossy"—and offers a different perspective entirely. Sometimes the traits we're told to tone down are the very ones we're meant to lean into. And sometimes, entrepreneurship gives us the opportunity to finally see ourselves clearly.
