Description

I was just sitting at my own dinner table eating my wife's lasagna when my mother-in-law decided to have a full-blown meltdown because I checked a recipe on my phone. I’m a tech-comfortable guy who uses AI like a digital Swiss Army knife, but to her, it’s some kind of job-destroying monster that makes her feel sick just being near it. This Entitled mother-in-law actually expected me to censor my behavior in my own home because of her news-fueled phobias. The vibe at the table went from enjoying special ingredients like cottage cheese and cheddar to a cold, awkward silence the second she saw the app on my screen. The situation finally boiled over when I refused to keep shrinking just to make her feel comfortable. Instead of putting my phone away like I usually do to keep the peace, I stayed grounded while she screamed about how she didn't want to see that thing around her. It was pure Karma watching her realize that her emotional outbursts didn't have power over me anymore. She looked like she was going to cry when she realized I wasn't going to apologize or justify myself, and the ProRevenge here was simply letting her sit in the silence of her own making. She hasn't been back to the house in a month because she can't handle a world where she doesn't get to dictate everyone's digital habits. It's honestly wild how some people think their personal fears should become everyone else's responsibility to manage. Seeing a grown woman get intimidated by a search tool is definitely a new level of Entitled behavior, but at least the house is a lot quieter now. If you've ever had a relative try to ban basic tech from your own living room, you know how satisfying it is to finally stand your ground. Subscribe for your daily dose of Reddit stories where the Karen finally learns that the world doesn't revolve around her comfort zone.
