“I’m Gonna Roast YOU!” Dave Smith vs Adam Sosnick Reunite In Comedy Battle

Description

Netflix’s 'The Roast of Kevin Hart' has ignited a fierce new culture war debate after a barrage of controversial jokes sparked backlash from across the political spectrum. The roast - featuring material touching on racism, sexism, ableism, antisemitism, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, George Floyd and more - has been praised by some as proof that “woke culture” is finally losing its grip on comedy, while others argue it crossed multiple lines. As outrage erupts online, the discussion has reopened old questions about cancel culture, free speech, and whether offensive comedy should have any limits at all. Can comedy ever go too far? If so, where is the line and who gets to decide? Piers Morgan is joined by comedian and host of Part of the Problem, Dave Smith, PBD Podcast contributor Adam Sosnick, host of Emily Saves America, Emily Wilson, and author, commentator and YouTuber Jay Dyer to debate. 00:00 Introduction 02:02 Piers is joined by his panel to discuss comedy roast hypocrisy 03:50 Kevin Hart’s roast and the rise of ‘wokeism’ affecting comedy 08:20 Did Pete Davidson’s joke cross a line? 14:12 Jokes made about George Floyd and Charlie Kirk 17:51 Jay Dyer being given the ‘N word’ pass 19:00 Dave Smith on comedy being a coping mechanism for dealing with harsh realities 20:35 Emily Wilson on different reactions from Democrats vs Republicans 22:27 Family of George Floyd’s response to jokes about George 24:15 Adam Sosnick on society comparing Charlie Kirk with George Floyd 24:40 Kevin Hart defending roasts 26:26 Jay Dyer on accepting the ‘W’ culture 27:25 Limitations on jokes and using ‘slurs’ 33:00 Conservative demands to fire Jimmy Kimmel 34:20 Tony Hinchcliffe’s jokes at Trump’s Madison Square rally vs jokes on Netflix set 35:50 Piers calls for the panel to roast each other 38:36 The demise of Stephen Colbert’s Late show Subscribe to stay up-to-date on all Uncensored content.
