HP Mini 1000: The Windows XP Netbook 16 Years Later

Description

LGR retrospective on the HP Mini 1000, one of the more popular PCs from the short-lived era of the netbook! If you could even call it an era. In hindsight, it was all a bit silly, even though the 45nm processors making it possible were quite exciting at that point in time. So join me in reviewing the Mini 1000 that I had back in 2009 (or close to it) and putting it through its paces 16 years later! ● LGR things elsewhere: https://www.patreon.com/LazyGameReviews https://bsky.app/profile/lgr-yt.bsky.social ● ASUS EeePC on the news https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4DRg2Vbyrs ● Intel exec shows off low-cost Netbook mobile PC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs7UH-xjhcM 00:00 the netbook! 00:57 LGR in 2009 01:40 Intel nettops, netbooks 03:19 45nm Atom CPUs 04:42 the fall of netbook PCs 05:26 HP Mini 1116NR 06:28 internals of the 1151NR 07:14 external hardware 09:11 I/O and ports 10:16 battery, SIM card, webcam 11:19 Windows XP and internet 13:20 do u even game bro? 15:07 Doom 3 15:24 RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 15:50 SimCity 4 Deluxe 16:34 Tomb Raider Chronicles 16:49 Doom 2, DOSbox 17:39 Duke Nukem Manhatten Project 18:00 Re-Volt in widescreen 18:25 Unreal Tournament 2004 19:06 Grand Theft Auto III 19:50 why netbooks failed #LGR #retro #laptop #computers
