How Dune is Pro-MAGA and Donald Trump

Description

Dune Part III is set to release this year, concluding the story of Paul Atreides and his friends and family in its modern incarnation. Many leftists love Dune, and find the politics of the story compatible with their own outlook. While there are certainly some leftist messages to be found in the world of Dune, this is driven imo by a leftist director adaptation the story more than the story itself. Frank Herbert was a libertarian Republican who hated welfare and even government funded education. The message of the first Dune trilogy warning about messianic figures only scratches the surface. The second trilogy is Herbert's own personal political manifesto, warning of humanities need to wean itself of centralised authority and to destroy bureaucracy if humanity is ever going to thrive for the long term. In this book the tyrannical dictator Leto Atreides II looms large. Many have drew comparisons to Richard Nixon, and this comparison could be applied to Trump and MAGA. With the main caveat we will explore in this video - Leto is Trump, if Trump was being a terrible President on purpose to teach us all a lesson that we soon would not forget. .00:00:00 - You Don't Understand Dune (probably) 00:07:30 - The Conservative Politics of Frank Herbert 00:16:00 - Paul Atreides is inspired by JFK 00:22:00 - Leto II, Nixon and Trump ? 00:29:30 - God Emperor is his manifesto 00:37:30 - Its Pro-Trump but not in the way you think BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/thekavernacle.bsky.social My Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/join/TheKavernacle My Instagram: https://instagram.com/thekavernacle/ My travel instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thekavernacle_extra/ Second Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtet3kEWqgKj6sSfMgf2n7A Sources: https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/heresies-of-dune/ Frank Herbert archive of speeches and interviews: https://theaugustry.com/category/frankherbert/
