How Did Muslims Conquer Modern Day Iran? | Ramadan Series 2026 Ep. 1

Description

For centuries, the Persian Empire stood as one of the greatest powers on earth. Its kings ruled from palaces of unimaginable wealth. Its armies marched with discipline, armor, and war elephants. Its legacy stretched back long before the Prophet ﷺ was born. And then, a generation after his passing, a small community from the deserts of Arabia stood before it. In this episode, Shaykh Yasir Qadhi takes us into the dramatic events leading up to the Battle of Qādisiyyah, the confrontation that would permanently alter the balance of power between Islam and the Sassanian Empire. From the early campaigns in Iraq to the painful defeat at the Battle of the Bridge, from ʿUmar’s strategic deliberations in Madinah to the selection of Saʿd ibn Abi Waqqas as commander, this is the story of preparation, patience, and resolve. We witness the remarkable ambassadorial encounters in the Persian court, where men who once had nothing addressed emperors without fear. We stand on the plains of Qādisiyyah as elephants thunder into battle and as the Muslims struggle, regroup, and persevere through days of relentless fighting. We see how the fall of Rustam shattered Persian morale and how a single battle opened the doors to Mada’in and ultimately reshaped Iraq forever. But this episode is not just about military history. It is about faith under pressure. It is about leadership, consultation, and reliance upon Allah. It is about how victory is never guaranteed by numbers, and how power can vanish when arrogance blinds a nation. How did a community that had once been dismissed as insignificant come to stand against one of the world’s oldest empires and prevail? And what warning did ʿUmar give after the victory that remains just as relevant today? Watch to understand why Qādisiyyah was not just a battle, but a turning point in world history. #iran #history #islamichistory Map data from OpenStreetMap All maps created openstreetmap.org/copyright 🎶 Track: Soil – Halal Beats 📌 License ID: P580-1016 | #halalsoundtracks 🔗 License tracks now
