From the Mundane to the Magnificent

Description

On this episode we are continuing our mind-blowing adventure with Vera Stanley Alder’s “From the Mundane to the Magnificent”. Today, friends, we discover the inner workings of nature itself with a gander at the logistics of Fairyland before a view of human beings in various mental and emotional states as we gain greater insight into the “insane”. For our Plus+ extension we begin Colin Wilson’s The Occult, exploring his argument that the real mystery isn’t ghosts or magic, it’s human consciousness itself. From primitive shamans to the bombastic Crowley types, we go over the idea that people have always brushed up against deeper layers of awareness, but just never quite learned how to control them. At its base, Wilson tries to argue that this is less about the supernatural and more about whether we’re living at a fraction of our actual potential.
