Scripture teaches that humanity is not simply physical or emotional — we are spirit, soul and body. And depending on what is governing a person’s life, the Bible gives entirely different classifications and conditions for that individual: — Pneumatikos (spirit-governed) — Psuchikos (soulish) — Sarkikos (flesh-governed) In this episode, Derek breaks down: • The tripartite nature of man • Why the soul must come under the governance of the regenerated spirit • How Scripture defines the “soulish” condition • The war between flesh, soul and spirit • Why many counseling systems help people manage dysfunction instead of healing it • The biblical meaning of ψυχή (psuchē / soul) • What it means to become “double-souled” (δίψυχος / dipsuchos) • How brokenness, instability, division and disorder manifest in the soul • Why spiritual maturity cannot be separated from soul health This is not psychology through a Christian lens. This is the reclaiming of the soul through the authority of Scripture and the governance of the Holy Spirit. Scriptures Covered Include: — 1 Thessalonians 5:23 — Romans 8 — 1 Corinthians 2–3 — James 1 & 3 — Jude 19 — 1 Peter 2 — Matthew 16 & 22 — Hebrews 6 — Jeremiah 31 — Ephesians 4 —and many more. TheoPsychology is a biblical framework devoted to restoring and ordering the human soul within the tripartite design of spirit, soul and body — so the regenerated human spirit, aligned with the Holy Spirit, governs the mind, will, emotions and moral faculties according to God’s design.
