Ep 669 part 1 Escaping Kisumu’s Post-Election Violence: My Survival Journey from Kisumu to Uganda

Description

Brandon Kamau "In the aftermath of Kenya's contentious 2007 general elections, a wave of unprecedented post-election violence swept across the nation. For many, particularly the Kikuyu community in regions like Kisumu, it became a fight for survival against targeted attacks, tribal hatred, and political unrest. This is our harrowing, true story. As Kikuyus, we found ourselves caught in the crossfire, our homes and businesses reduced to ashes, our loved ones facing torture and murder. With nowhere left to turn, we embarked on a desperate journey, ferried by a lorry, to escape the escalating violence in Kisumu and seek refuge in neighboring Uganda. Join us as we recount the terrifying events of 2007, the fear, the loss, and the incredible resilience that led us to safety. This is more than just a personal account; it's a testament to the human spirit in the face of political turmoil and a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of tribal divisions. Watch to understand the true cost of post-election violence and the enduring impact on those who lived through it. #Kenya #PostElectionViolence #2007Elections #Kisumu #Kikuyu #Uganda #SurvivorStory #TrueStory #AfricanHistory #PoliticalUnrest #Escape #Refugee #HumanRights #NeverForget" SIGN UP ON LemFi using the IKONINI referral code, click on this link https://referral.lemonade.finance/invite/jmbLoTGSeDjjrCQa9 Iko Nini is a Kenya podcast that covers everything Kenyan entertainment, politics & social issues BUY RAPCHA RAW N UNKUT 4 on GUMROAD https://shorturl.at/ksm2v SUPPORT IKO NINI THROUGH CASHAPP $IKONINI BECOME A MEMBER FOR EARLY ACCESS & EXCLUSIVE CONTENT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5h4-WH0LAV4CWs380yM33A/join
