Eating In World's Biggest Floating Slum In Lagos, Nigeria!! Venice of Africa!!

Description

Join me as I explore the vibrant and resilient community of Makoko, Nigeria—often referred to as the "Venice of Africa." Located in Lagos, Makoko is one of the largest floating slums in the world, where thousands of people live in homes built on stilts over the lagoon. In this eye-opening journey, we dive deep into the local culture, food, and daily life of this unique community. I’ll be meeting with local residents to understand their challenges, resilience, and traditions, and tasting authentic Nigerian street food along the way. From exploring the waterways by canoe to learning about the innovative ways locals adapt to life on the water, this is an experience you don’t want to miss. My guide is talented Nollywood Nigerian Film Director Kayode Kusum, and he will be breaking it all down for us. Makoko is more than just a slum—it's a place of culture, strength, and untold stories. Come with me as we shine a light on one of the most fascinating and overlooked communities in Africa! 🔥 DBH STORE: https://dbh-store.com/ 📇 AMAZON STORE: https://www.amazon.com/stores/DavidsBeenHere/page/81427CFD-2A54-4BF4-B7C9-B23B966C1081?ref_=ast_bln 🌎 TRAVEL GUIDES: https://davidsbeenhere.com/ 🧵 THREADS: https://www.threads.net/@davidsbeenhe... 📸 INSTAGRAM: / davidsbeenhere 📖 FACEBOOK: / davidsbeenhere 🎬 CREDITS: DIRECTOR/HOST » David Hoffmann PRODUCER » Nathan Plutzik EDITOR » Juan Forrero #travel #food #nigeria #africa
