Set against the rapid-fire tempo of authentic Singeli beats, the song tells the story of a young man caught between love, poverty, and the law. Dogo Paten delivers raw, emotional verses, portraying a character who claims he’s been falsely accused of robbery — all because of the pressures of trying to please a lover. Zuchu adds her signature playful flair, blending melodies and street chants that energize the track with her signature charm. "Afande" is a colorful confession, where the protagonist begs the officer ("afande") for mercy, offering humor, honesty, and even bribes in a desperate bid for freedom. The lively outro celebrates Singeli dance culture, calling out legendary Tanzanian artists and urging fans to hit the dancefloor with playful Chinese-style dance moves.
