Description

Delta likes to give Design Brief students, complex ambiguous puzzles to solve and this design brief was no exception. This class was comprised of a large group of grade 11s and 12s who chose to divide and attack each part of the opportunity in smaller groups. The struggles, conflicts, and working relationships are an important part of what is important about this work. If someone doesn’t appear to be working at the right speed, it is almost always a communication opportunity. Communication skills are so important because life is a group project. It is important to note that when the client had to reschedule this presentation, these grade 11 iD students jumped at the chance to come in on a day off from school to accommodate their client’s needs. “This was fun for us and we loved doing it.” The meeting began at 10am, but the team came in at 8:30am to get everything ready and rehearse one final time. The Design Brief class is student-led and Pass/Fail. Students are motivated by the client, desire to make a change, and authentic work.
