Description
Over the past year, the Trump administration has engaged in an unprecedented assault on immigrant communities, arresting undocumented immigrants and changing legislation to make it more difficult to even legally immigrate to the US. But for Arab and Arab-American communities—many of whom are directly impacted by the Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and bombardment of Lebanon—it’s even more complicated. Many are wondering if it’s safe to protest and attend community events when high profile activists, like Mahmoud Khalil and Leqqa Kordia, have been targeted. Imad Hamad tells Anna Lekas Miller that Trump has succeeded in making people think “10, 100, 1000 times” before they speak.
