What Makes Someone Indian (with Thai-Indian)

Описание

What makes you Indian? Is it language, culture, religion… or something else? In this episode of the Evolve Podcast, we explore identity through the story of a Thai-born, Indian-origin guest who grew up speaking Thai as his first language — yet is constantly seen as “Indian.” He doesn’t speak Hindi. He grew up in Thailand. But people still assume he’s Indian. So… what actually defines being Indian? Is it speaking Hindi or another Indian language? Is it your parents and ancestry? Is it culture, food, or religion? Or is it simply how others see you? This conversation dives deep into Indian identity, diaspora experiences, and the reality of growing up between cultures. Whether you’re from India, part of the Indian diaspora, or just curious about identity — this will challenge how you think about what it means to be “Indian.” If you'd like to support the channel and help us keep making inspiring content, you can buy us a coffee :) www.buymeacoffee.com/evolve_hq 💬 Join the debate: 👉 What makes YOU Indian? 👉 Do you think language is important? 👉 Can someone be Indian without speaking Hindi?
