What It’s Really Like Being a Ugandan in Kenya - Nikky Shillingi | It’s Never That Serious podcast

Описание

In this episode, I’m joined by Nikky Shillingi, an Ugandan journalist based in Nairobi, as we talk about what it’s really like being an Ugandan living in Kenya. Nikky began her journalism career at just 15 years old and later moved to Nairobi in 2022 to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, all while building a career as an events MC, brand ambassador, entrepreneur, and content creator. We get into her experience moving to Kenya, the culture shocks she encountered, and how life in Nairobi compares to life in Kampala. We also talk about dating in Kenya versus Uganda, her personal dating experiences, what doesn’t impress her, and what her ideal date looks like. Nikky shares her journey navigating the creative space in Nairobi as an Ugandan and what it’s been like studying and working in a new country at the same time. We wrap up the episode with a game of Serious but Never That Serious, keeping things honest, light, and reflective.
