The Language of Characters in Story | Inside Acting with Moshidi Motshegwa and Nthati Moshesh

Описание

In this exciting episode of Inside Acting, two of South Africa’s most respected performers, Moshidi Motshegwa and Nthati Moshesh, sit down for a deeply reflective conversation on the craft of acting. From the idea that the era you’re born into shapes your spirit, to discovering that every character has their own language — this episode explores the inner life of performance. Nthati reflects on her portrayal of strong women and the importance of recognising truth in the writing, while Moshidi shares how her love for reading allows her to bring authentic, recognisable South African women to life — honouring the stories rooted in our townships. Together, they unpack the paradox of the craft: learning the script, only to lose it in pursuit of the character’s spirit. They also reflect on grief, challenge, and the desire to stretch further — even exploring the idea of playing multiple roles in one story, inspired by performances like Michael B. Jordan in Sinners. A masterclass in truth, spirit, and storytelling. Watch. Reflect. Share. Connect with us @insidestorynetwork @insideacting_
