S09E03: The Courage To Be Happy – On Community, Grief & Purpose | Roc Koh & Angjolie Mei | CYT S9

Описание

What if the people we think we are helping… are actually the ones healing us?In this episode of the Confessions of the Unconventional series, Roc Koh from Corridor Farmers sits down with funeral director Angjolie Mei for a deeply human conversation about community, grief, loneliness, purpose, and the quiet moments that completely change how we see life. What started as a conversation about urban farming and funerals slowly unfolded into something much deeper.A reflection on:- Why some of the happiest people have the least materially- The loneliness many elderly quietly carry- What community gardens reveal about human connection- How grief changes relationships and perspective- Why both farming and funerals are ultimately about people- The courage it takes to pursue an unconventional path- Letting go of parental approval to build your own life- Why success and happiness are often very different thingsOne of the stories that stayed with us most was Roc sharing about an elderly amputee living alone in a single-room flat, yet somehow becoming one of the happiest people he had ever met.Another was Angjolie sharing about her daughter befriending an elderly neighbour who rarely smiled, and how a simple daily hug slowly transformed his final chapter of life. This episode is tender, reflective, unexpectedly emotional, and quietly philosophical.Because beneath all the ambition, careers, achievements, and responsibilities… many of us are still searching for the same things:connection, meaning, belonging, and a life that feels truly lived.“If death is guaranteed… then how should we really be living?”Watch till the end for one of the warmest and most heartfelt conversations we’ve had this season.#humanstories #community #purpose #connection #meaning #happiness #loneliness #podcast #singapore #cleanyourtoiletpodcast
