O My People (The Reproaches) | Christopher Walker | Good Friday Hymn | Catholic Choir w/ Lyrics

Описание

“O My People (The Reproaches)” by Christopher Walker is a hauntingly beautiful setting of the traditional Good Friday Reproaches, the ancient “Popule Meus” in which Christ, from the Cross, tenderly yet sorrowfully asks His people, “What have I done to you? How have I hurt you? Answer me.” Sung during the Adoration of the Holy Cross on Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion, this piece places us at the foot of the Cross, hearing the Lord recall all He has done to save us—from leading His people out of Egypt to feeding them with manna and bringing them into the promised land—while we acknowledge how often we respond with indifference, sin, and rejection. Recorded live by the Sunday 7pm Choir at SFDS Parish, Ajax ON Canada.
