Her phone then went silent.By June 15, Sunil's car was found submerged in a canal near Panipat, and he checked into a hospital claiming it was an accident — saying Sheetal had drowned. But CCTV footage and inconsistencies in his statement raised suspicions. On June 16, 2025, a woman’s body was found in the Kharkhoda canal in Sonipat — throat slit and stabbed multiple times. Tattoos confirmed it was Sheetal. By June 17, police arrested Sunil after he confessed to the crime. He admitted to stabbing her at least 8 times and slitting her throat before dumping her body and car into the canal to fake an accident. This shocking case has sparked outrage across Haryana, especially in Panipat and Sonipat, raising questions about women's safety, toxic relationships, and justice in India.
