Is This Kenya’s Biggest Highway Upgrade? 48 Hours on the Rironi–Mau Summit Road

Описание

I spent 48 hours on the Rironi–Mau Summit Road — one of Kenya’s most important highways and a critical trade corridor for East Africa. This road connects Nairobi to the Rift Valley, Western Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and the wider East African region. Now, Kenya is dualling and reconstructing it to reduce accidents, cut travel time, and unlock faster movement of goods and people. So what does this reconstruction really mean on the ground? In this documentary, I travel the highway, talk to road users, observe construction works, and break down: Why Kenya is dualling the Rironi–Mau Summit Road How the project is expected to transform trade in East Africa The safety, economic, and logistical challenges along the route What motorists, traders, and residents are experiencing during construction Whether this road can finally end congestion, accidents, and delays This is not just a road project — it’s a strategic trade lifeline for Kenya and the region. 📍 Filmed on location: Rironi – Mau Summit 🎥 The Kenyan Historian #RironiMauSummit #KenyaInfrastructure #RoadConstruction #EastAfricaTrade #KenyaDevelopment #DuallingProject #TradeCorridor #KenyaRoads #InfrastructureDocumentary #TheKenyanHistorian
