I Was A Lawyer For The Mexican Mafia — Then Got 6 Years in Arizona Prison | Jason Keller

Описание

Jason Keller became a criminal defense attorney in Arizona, developed addictions to drugs and alcohol that compromised every professional boundary available, took on clients who were members of the New Mexican Mafia, and eventually crossed the single most alarming line available for an officer of the court — smuggling drugs and cell phones into prison for the same clients he was supposed to be defending — before getting caught and receiving a sentence of over six years inside the Arizona state prison system he had spent his career navigating from the other side of the courtroom. _____________________________________________ #mexicanmafia #arizona #truecrimestory #prisonstory #lawyer _____________________________________________ Thank you to PRIZEPICKS & FACTOR for sponsoring this episode: PrizePicks: Visit https://prizepicks.onelink.me/LME0/IANBICK and use code IANBICK and get $150 if you win your first $5 lineup! _____________________________________________ Factor: Head to https://factormeals.com/lockedin50off and use code lockedin50off to get 50 percent off and 1 free breakfast item per box for 1 year, while supplies last until 10/31/2026 _____________________________________________ Connect with Jason Keller: https://www.instagram.com/soberithm?stkn=OTVsbDlpbWhnbjM3 _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 Intro: A Lawyer's Fall 00:34 Early Life and Legal Beginnings 03:10 Career as a Public Defender 05:43 Early Career and Private Practice 08:36 The Path to High-Profile Clients 12:39 Blurring Lines and Rationalizing Wrongs 15:04 The Plea Bargain System 20:46 First Drug Use and College Life 24:01 Addiction in the Family 26:30 Why Criminal Defense? 30:52 The Best Trial Attorneys 33:11 Respect for Public Defenders 38:42 Why the DUI Wasn't a Wake-Up Call 42:39 Life on Probation and Relapse 46:00 Treatment and the Road to Sobriety 52:00
