How the Ottomans Built the Deadliest Elite Army in History

Описание

Discover the brutal origins of the Janissaries, the elite shock troops of the Ottoman Empire! ⚔️ Under the 1363 Pençik Law, the Ottomans extracted one out of every five young, physically fit slaves captured during campaigns in the Balkans. Sent to Turkish farmlands to adapt to the language and convert to Islam, these boys were then intensely trained in the Acemi Ocağı (Hearth of the Inexperienced) to become the ultimate "hammer of the Sultan." #Janissaries #OttomanEmpire #HistoryShorts #MilitaryHistory #OttomanHistory #EliteWarriors #MiddleAges
