How a Motorcycle Educator Built a Safety Empire

Описание

Christopher Johnson starts Washington Motorcycle Safety Training in a storage unit with no financial backing, handling everything from registrations and maintenance to teaching classes himself. Seventeen years later, WMST trains roughly 12,000 people annually and reaches 70% of Washington State. But for Christopher, growth is only part of the mission. After losing five friends on the road, he becomes determined to challenge outdated motorcycle training and create safer, more effective education. He reveals why customer experience became central to his company culture, how fear and complacency put drivers at risk, and why proven riding techniques matter more than tradition. Now, with ambitions beyond Washington, Christopher is asking a much bigger question: how far can better education go in preventing unnecessary deaths on America’s roads? Key Takeaways • Why starting without experience, financial backing, or perfect resources does not have to stop an entrepreneur • How Christopher grew a storage-unit operation into a motorcycle training organization serving roughly 12,000 people annually • Why customer experience and making students feel valued became non-negotiable parts of WMST’s culture • How complacency and fear can turn dangerous situations on the road into loss of control • Why Christopher believes proven motorcycle training techniques can raise road safety standards across America Notable Quotes • “I get to figure out how to help people not die on motor vehicles.” • “They don’t know what they don’t know.” • “If they don’t know that we care, then they’re not going to listen.” • “Complacency gets us into the trouble, and then the fear takes over.” • “You’ve got to be in it to win it.”
