Europe On The BRINK OF WAR With Russia! w/ Chris Hedges

Описание

Jeffrey Sachs recently published an open letter to German Chancellor Merz warning that Europe is in a "distorted and dangerous state of mind," gearing up for an all-out war with Russia fueled by "fervent Russia hatred" that is completely irrational and counter to historical truths. He notes that Ukrainian long-range drones have struck deep into Moscow (including civilian sites), Russian missiles have intensified strikes on Kiev, and Ukrainian drones have crossed into Baltic airspace—raising the immediate prospect of an incident that could pull Europe directly into war. Jimmy’s guest Chris Hedges recalls that he was present when James Baker and Hans-Dietrich Genscher promised Gorbachev that NATO would not expand beyond a unified Germany, and that Putin and Gorbachev both wanted to join NATO after 9/11, but the US arms industry needed an enemy to justify billions in profits. He concludes that German militarism is re-emerging, with the Nordstream pipeline explosion being downplayed by Germany because they needed Russia to remain "the bad guy" to justify remilitarization, and that the war in Ukraine was provoked by NATO expansion.
