🚀 What if the next global sport wasn’t on Earth… but in SPACE? In this episode of Through a Different Lens, we sit down with Philip Hover-Smoot, founder of Atlas Cup, to discuss the future of orbital racing, space entertainment, and humanity’s next frontier. Atlas Cup has been described as “Formula One meets America’s Cup in orbit” — a future sport where satellites and spacecraft compete in space through high-speed manoeuvres, racing formats and competitive operations. But this conversation goes far beyond sport. We dive into: • The future of humanity and space exploration • Why space racing is actually possible TODAY • The business behind Atlas Cup • AI, startups & Silicon Valley culture • Space wars & geopolitical tensions • Why sports could unite nations in orbit • UFOs, aliens & public perception of space • The future of sports media & entertainment • Why humans racing in space could become the biggest sporting event in history Philip also explains: • Why he left his role as CEO of Scout Space • How existing technology already makes space racing possible • Why storytelling will be crucial to the future of space • How Atlas Cup plans to build a global fanbase • Why space could become a trillion-dollar entertainment industry This was one of the most thought-provoking conversations we’ve had on the podcast. 🎧 Listen now and let us know in the comments: Would YOU watch sports in space? 👇 COMMENT BELOW Follow Through a Different Lens Podcast on all platforms: https://linktr.ee/throughadifferentlenspodcast ABOUT THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS PODCAST: 'Through a Different Lens Podcast taking an intuitive different perspective on all things sports, life and culture with Joe, Deji, Jacob #ThroughADifferentLens #AtlasCup #Space #SpaceRace #Formula1 #F1 #NASA #SpaceX #SportsPodcast #Podcast #FutureTech #Technology #Entrepreneurship #SpaceExploration #OrbitalRacing #AI #SportsBusiness #Innovation #DriveToSurvive #futureofsports Timecodes 00:00 Intro 01:48 What Atlas Cup actually is? 03:20 Why sports in space is
