Are 2008 EBOX Mini PCs worth it for DOS/Win98 gaming?

Описание

The DMP eBox 3300 is a mini PC built for legacy industrial applications, making it well-suited to natively running MS-DOS and Windows 98 without emulation! It's also inexpensive, selling for a fraction of what newer Vortex86 DX projects cost. So what's the catch? Sound, mostly! Let's dive in and try a bunch of games and stuff. ● LGR things elsewhere: Patreon https://www.patreon.com/LazyGameReviews Bsky https://bsky.app/profile/lgr-yt.bsky.social ● Pertinent links: LGR WeeCee Review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USHvvSbYmJA LGR Pixel x86 Review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8WfiRRvQXo CES 2008 coverage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSl12fTAvHQ DMP Group website https://www.compactpc.com.tw/ Vortex86 DX info page https://www.vortex86.com/products/Vortex86DX DMP Electronics YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@dmpelectronicsinc.8219 @vwestlife MSTI PDX video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkqtQ3ySE6c Z9s Windows 98 drivers https://www.supermicro.com/wdl/driver/VGA/XGI/Z7-Z9/Windows/ @philscomputerlab Benchmarks https://www.philscomputerlab.com/dos-benchmark-pack.html ● Background music licensed from Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com 00:00 DMP EBOX-3310A 01:15 a cheaper alternative? 03:03 Vortex 86 appeal 04:30 DM&P Group context 05:42 unboxing ebox box 06:32 ports and I/O 07:13 inside the system 08:16 AMI BIOS things 09:16 Windows 98 setup 10:12 that on-board sound 11:18 DOS sound tests 12:12 XGI Volari graphics 12:43 benchmarks 13:22 so close, so far 14:08 the whole point!
